Pink Carnation - Gratitude
Carnations are a symbol of love, admiration and gratitude. Carnations in ancient times were known as "Jove's Flower" and were given as a tribute to the Gods in ancient Rome. It is believed in Korea that if a young girl places three carnations in her hair it signifies her fortune.
If the top flower dies first then it means that the last years of her life will be difficult. If it is the middle flower then her earlier years will be disturbing and if the first flower dies the girl will be sad and miserable her entire life.

White Chrysanthemum - Truth
The flower chrysanthemums normally mean happiness, love and cheerfulness. For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration. A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.
It is believed in China that if a chrysanthemum that has been used to wipe's one mouth after drinking wine is given to your beloved it will promise undying love and loyalty of the partner. The Japanese hold this flower as the symbol of the sun. They also believe that a single chrysanthemum petal placed in the bottom of a wine glass will ensure a long and healthy life.

Forget-Me-Not - Remember Me Forever
True love’s difficult to find, but if you are fortunate enough to have found it, be sure to give your beloved a ‘forget-me-not’ flower. This flower, scientifically termed, Mycostis sylvatica, from the ‘Boraginaceae’ botanical family, is regarded as an emblem of loving remembrance, faithful love, constancy and undying hope.
In 1948 the little blue Forget Me Not flower, or badge, was adopted as a Masonic emblem at the first Annual Convention of the United Grand Lodges of Germany, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. The flower, or badge, is now universally worn as a Masonic emblem in the coat lapel to remember all those that have suffered in the name of Freemasonry, and specifically those during the Nazi era.
This blue flower, though quite small in size, expresses sweet memories of true and faithful love, a soft cry- ‘Do not forget’ the sunny and cloudy days of a deep relationship. Medicinally, this plant has a strong affinity for the respiratory organs, especially the left lower lung. In some countries, it is sometimes made into syrup and given for pulmonary affections. There is a tradition that a decoction or juice of the plant hardens steel.

Red Carnation - Flashiness
The flower meanings for red carnations are Flashy, My heart aches for you, Admiration. Red carnations have a mild fragrance. The birth month flower for January and associated with the astrological flowers for Leo and Sagittarius.

The blossom size is 2-3 inches and the stem size is 16-26 inches. In floral design the red carnation is used as a mass flower with a solid/round silhouette with a satin bloom texture.



Lilac - First Love
The first emotions of Love! Well there it was like another bolt of lightening from the sky hitting me! If ever there was a sign sent to me, that was it! Oh some may say its just coincidence, but to me it was our Angels saying , here is the One for you and I have never doubted it and only believe it stronger to this day. Oh I’m not good enough with words to convey the emotion I felt… no.. the emotion I still feel to this day. Well the lilacs are in bloom once more and I am more in love than ever before! I love you baby!



Forget-Me-Not - Remember Me Forever
Forget-me-not refers to the plants of the genus Myosotis. This genus comes under the family Boraginaceae. There are roughly 50 species within this genus. There exists variation within the genus. However, one similarity that can be noticed is that most of the members of this species have flat blue flowers with five petals growing thickly on stems. They grow in a slightly disorderly fashion.

A legend about the origin of the name forget-me-not is as follows. Once a medieval knight and his lady-love were walking beside a river. The knight held a bouquet in his hands. Because of the weight of the armor, he fell into the water. According to the legend, he threw the bouquet at her shouting forget-me-not. There is a Christian religious legend according to which the child Jesus Christ created forget-me-nots so that the generations to come would be able to see him and his mother Mary, on whose lap he was sitting.

The Red Rose not only carries more meaning than many other color roses, it is also one of the most universal of all symbols. The long, storied history of the red rose has lent it a wealth of significance. Red roses have been represented in countless works of art, from classical paintings and poetry to modern day music and media. They have appeared throughout history and across many cultures as political and religious symbols. The mystique of the red rose has been a source of immeasurable inspiration for many throughout the ages. However, it is as the symbol for love that the red rose is most commonly recognized.

Wisteria - Steadfast

The wisteria is called "Purple Vine" in China. In one cluster, the petals shade harmoniously from the strong, dark purple tip to the soft, light pink at the open base. Wisteria symbolizes playfulness and adventure.

Among all plants, vines are the most vivid examples of nature's playful spontaneity. When they decide to grow, they grow without knowing where to grow to. They never miss an opportunity to engage themselves in a playful act with whomever they meet.The movement of the vine dutifully records the memory of its adventures.

White Carnation - Remembrance

In ancient Rome, white carnations were called Jove's Flower as a tribute to Jupiter, one of their most beloved gods.
In the time of William Shakespeare, audiences watching his plays drank rose water and cordials made from carnations.
In the 13th century, Crusaders stricken with the plague mixed the leaves of carnations with wine and drank it to control the fever. This method of fever control was also used during the 16th century.

I'm not sure about usage of flowers in Thailand but I can tell about my country. In South Korea, flowers are used for
gift or present just like other countries. But some of them are used for food too. Hwajeon is a pan-fried rice cake that uses edible flower petals for embellishment. Its name literally means "flower cake" and is quite delightful in taste, not to mention sight. It was commonly eaten during the Goryeo Dynasty and has remained a favorite since then.

For example we give a jasmine to our mom on the mother day. And give a red rose to the lover on valentine's day.

It is the emblem of paradise; it is sign of the heavenly abode in Japan. In fact, in its different incarnations, it represents the spirituality of a large area of the world.
The language of flowers, as tokens indicating a special feeling or emotion- well, according to this flower- symbolism, the lotus stands as a sign of estranged love –lovers who have parted, either due to hostile circumstances or due to internal friction.

A daisy was often used by maidens to decorate their hair. A common daisy flower meaning is innocence. Devoid of any sin or guilt, daisy is the perfect symbol of innocence. Daisy is often used while confessing undying love. Though the use of flowers for proposing love may be ancient but daisy captures the language of love best with its silence. In earlier days a daisy from a maiden was an honorable gesture and an act of affection.
Close to innocence, a daisy also means purity. Though these daisy flower meanings are close to each other, they are not really similar. Innocence is not a guarantee for purity. A daisy can also be used by married woman and personify the purity that daisy symbolizes. Daisy is appropriate in capturing purity of the mind, heart and soul. Thus, daisy is the ultimate symbol of inner sanctity.
